Buoyant Upholstery

We are proud of our heritage and our part in British manufacturing history

Buoyant was established in Sandiacre, Nottingham by Ebeneezer Savage in 1909. We quickly built a reputation for quality and became the leading supplier of upholstered furniture for cinemas, theatres and luxury cruise liners.

Our design & development team is the foundation of the business. From the initial concept drawings through to the finished product, our team work passionately to create furniture that is aesthetically pleasing and on trend without ever compromising on quality and comfort.

More efficient. More proficient. Leading through innovation. Our own state-of-the-art, 332,000sqft production facility employs over 700 people in Nelson, Lancashire.

Each frame we make is dowelled, glued, screwed and stapled before being paired with our own unique interiors and the finest fabrics sourced from around the globe.

Investing in the latest computer aided design technology provides us with more efficiency, accuracy and consistency throughout the whole business, helping us craft the highest quality frames whilst minimising waste and maximising speed to market.

We pride ourselves in producing everything in house. From concept to consumer, our team work extremely hard on raising the bar within all aspects of upholstery manufacturing.

Our dedicated team produce furniture made with passion, skill and enthusiasm – setting us apart from the rest.

Generations of local families have worked for Buoyant over the years, with many continuing to do so, passing on their knowledge and pride in the work that they do, ensuring the future of our legacy.
